Brethren, our work for October will be Passing Bro Garcia and Bro King to the Second Degree on Tuesday 18th. All Brethren doing work have been advised and all Brethren are requested to attend the Practice on Tuesday 4th and the Management Meeting and Practice on 11th October
Brethren, last night was the Installation of WB Colin Elrington as WM of the Lodge, with the RWDGM Paul Holland and his GL Team in attendance. There was a full Lodge, with many Brethren and visitors attending. The Ceremony was well done, including the welcome to Bro Richard Elrington and the presentation of his Affiliation Certificate by the WM, his father. Considering the last minute changes caused by sickness to various Brethren, or in their Family, it really was a great ceremony. In the South, the DGM presented three Charity Jewels: Bob Medlicott was upgraded to Life Patron, Graham Humphrey to Life Vice Patron and Ivo Bunker to Life Vice President. The complete ceremony and the banquet was a success, thanks to the efforts of all members of the Lodge, and their partners. The cake was made and decorated by Bro Raymond Vonder.
At our last meeting, Bro Colin Elrington was elected Master-Elect and will be installed into the Chair of King Solomon on Saturday 17th September.
Tuesday saw a great meeting, with 29 Members and 17 Visitors attending. This included a Fraternal from Caloundra Lodge, led by their WM, WB Scott Roberts. The 1st Degree Tracing Board was well presented by Bro Daniel Norman to Bro Patrick Howard. This was followed by an explanation of the Lodge by the WM. The night also saw a Ballot for Initiation and the presentation of a 60 Year Jewell to RWBro Tom Schwabe by RWBro Roy Fursman. A great time was had in the South, which also included the handing over of the Sunshine Coast Travelling Gavel to Caloundra Lodge. This means that we now only hold the John Oxley Travelling Gavel.
Greetings Brethren, There are a few items that I wish to confirm with all Members that are on our forward schedule. On Tuesday of next week( July 5th) I wish to forego our regular Management Meeting and in lieu do a Fraternal Visit to Caloundra Lodge. I request as many members who are able to accompany me on that visit to show our support to their newly installed Master. The Management Meeting will be held on the following Tuesday night, and any “practice” that may be required will follow this meeting. The Meeting Notice which you will receive in the next few days will outline the work for the meeting and you will note that the tyling time is at 7-30pm. This time is to assist Bro. 5 Maroochydore, with partners, travelled to Roma for our traditional visit to Raphael Lodge’s Installation. RWBro Kim RuRu was installed as WM for the first time in his Mother Lodge. The GM, Most Worshipful Gary Bacon and his GL team, conducted the ceremony, and the Lodge room was packed with friends of Kim to celebrate this great occasion. The Festive Board at The Cultural Centre was well attended and everyone had a great time. The numbers at the Installation and the Festive Board showed the respect everyone has for Kim and Lynn.
Brethren, our June meeting will be the Initiation of Mr. Patrick Keith Howard on Tuesday 21 June, Tying at 7:30. The Brethren doing the work was detailed by the WM at the May Meeting. Anyone uncertain please contact the DC. The Management Meeting will be Tuesday 7 June, and the Practice Meeting Tuesday 14 June.
Brethren, There will be no Practice on Tuesday 10th May, instead the Lodge will be visiting Montville Lodge for their annual Masonic Quiz Night. Meet at the Lodge by 6:45 for those who wish to car pool.
Brethren, the work for this month on Tuesday 17th May at 7:30 PM will be to Ballot for Mr Patrick Keith Howard, followed by an open discussion on “What Does Freemasonry Mean to You?” There will be a Management Meeting at 7 PM on Tuesday 3 May, followed by a Past Master’s Meeting to discuss the Installation in September.
Brethren, this month’s meeting on Tuesday 19th April, tyling at 7PM, is to Raise Bro Kieser to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason. There will also be a Ballot for Affiliation for Bro Cardona. Management Meeting and practice on Tuesday 5th and a full practice on Tuesday 12th.
